Route 87 about 1965 Wouldn't you love to have a couple of those antique cars parked in your garage?
Route 87 about 1965 Wouldn't you love to have a couple of those antique cars parked in your garage?
Contributed by Nancy - "The portion of Route 87 in the photo is in the low gap between Baden Presbyterian Church's entry roads and the top of the next hill going toward Evans, and shows what Earl's family always called "the garage" (in later years it was turned into a shed for horses pastured on that side of the road). The driveway to Patty's folks' house (Hugh Jasper Sayre) would have been to the left (back toward the church) just out of view. Just to the right of the boys at about their elbow level is a concrete box culvert that goes through under the roadway, which is supposed to have a permanent drain from a spring that never goes dry. The photo was taken from the house toward the side-yard, Route 87 was just what lay behind the 3 boys in the picture".
