Mazilla Jane (Herdman) Sayre, one of the oldest residents of the Cow Run community, died Monday morning as a result of a stroke. The aged lady would have been 80 years old on Dec. 5, the day following her death. Mrs. Sayre was born Dec. 4, (I don't know which date. This is the way the newspapaer had the article) 1859, in Mason County, a daughter of Peter and Nancy (Flowers) Herdman. In 1883 she was married to George Sayre who survives. She was a member of the Church of God (Logger Head?). Beside her husband she is survived by five sons,. Wade, Virgil, Ray, Criss and Thomas, a d a daughter, Nancy Shinn. Funeral services were to be held at Creston at 10:30 o'clock Thursday, Dec. 7. Burial will be in the Creston Cemetery with the J. E. Vail Undertaking establishment in charge.
