- Parke Albert Cadle, 100, of Charleston, WV, passed away January 2, 2009, in the Valley Center, South Charleston, following a brief illness.
He was born December 20, 1908 in Red House, WV, a son of the late John Z. and Mary (Adams) Cadle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carmelita; son “Bink”; daughter Joanie; brothers Orval, Cleon, Clair, Ray and Bert; and sister Bonnie.
He was a United States Navy veteran and served in the Seabees on the island of Okinawa during World War II. He was a former partner in the Cloverleaf Construction Company in Ripley and later founded the Parke A. Cadle Construction Company. He was a farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Margaret Cadle of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Chris, Robert and Carmelita; great-grandchildren Patricia, Toni, Tevin and Siena; daughter-in-law Carolyn Cadle of Cross Lanes, and several nieces and nephews.
Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. John Hayman officiating. Burial followed in the Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #107, Ripley. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Otterbein Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 167, Evans, WV 25241, or to any charity of choice. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Valley Center for the tender care and kindness.
