  Notes	Occupation - Road Construction; Retail Produce This is one of the notes that sometimes make you wonder if you should reveal this stuff. I have been told that Will's mother, Rosetta Isabella, was a mean spirited woman. When Will's wife Ruie died her body was brought back to 413 10th St. Dunbar, her mother-in-law's home. Her coffin was at the foot of the stairs. Rosetta Isabella coached Will & Ruie's children to walk up to the casket and spit in their Mother's face. I have this information from three of Rosetta Isabella's granddaughters, Rosa, Velma and Thelma.

Source Information: My Mom passed away in 2012. Most of the people in her age group, that grew up on 87, have passed on also. Mom was the only living member of her generation of Casto’s. She had some wonderful stories to tell, most of them are not very flattering. For example: Her grandmother was Rosetta Isabella Barr Casto, my great grandmother, daughter of George Wesley Barr. I can just barely remember seeing her, she was a huge woman. Mom was a young child when her Uncle Will's (Great Grand Mother Casto's son) wife passed away. Great Grandma Casto did not like the woman. She egged on the woman's children to walk up to the casket and spit in their mother's face. From the story Mom told, GGmother Rosa-Barr Casto was meaner than a grass snake. She also would tell the story of how Rossetta Isabella came to marry Jeptha Mason Casto. George W. Barr owned a store opposite what is now the Church of God on Route 87 at the corner of Donohew Road and Route 87. Jeptha Mason was at the store and saw Rosetta Isabella Barr, she was under 14 at the time. Jeptha Mason told George W. Barr he was going to marry her and sure enough he did. Jeptha Mason Casto, 31 May 1847-18 Sep 1935 Rosetta Isabella Barr, 15 Jul 1865-14 Dec 1948 they were married 12 Jan 1881. In the fifties Russ and Laura Fox Donohew lived in this house. At one time Mom’s maternal grandparents, David and Sarah Williams Rhodes lived catty corner to the old store on what is now Donohue Road. Lou Kessell-Donohew and Ted Donohew lived in the Rhode's house later on. Both houses have been replaced by mobile homes.
