Lawrence E. Sayre Jr., 44, of Nitro passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.
He was a general all-purpose laborer. He loved to fish and go camping. He was a Protestant.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence E. Sayre Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Samantha Tope Sayre; son, Lawrence E. Sayre III; mother Patty Wesolowski; grandson, Brooklyn Michael Sayre; brothers, Larry Sayre, Mike Whittington, Clayton Sayre, Warren Dickerson, and James Sayre; and sisters, Julie Byrd and Penny Tuthill. He is also survived by his birth mother, Aunita Dickerson; and his best friend, Allie, and also his best friend, Terry Mathes.
As per his wishes, Lawrence's body was cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 2, in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, Jackson County, with the Rev. Millard Mitchell officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Cooke Funeral Home & Crematorium, Nitro, is in charge of arrangements.
