- Pearl B. (SAYRE) MOORE, the daughter of J. O. and Maggie SAYRE was born April 11, 1901, at Evans, WV. She departed this life on February 8, 1942, aged 40 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was united in marriage on August 21, 1920 to Bedford MOORE and to this union two children were born, Donald and Hildreth. She was converted at the United Brethren church at Creston in 1929.
She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, two children, her mother, Maggie SAYRE of Akron, Ohio; five sisters, namely; Almira MOORE, Edna WEST and Vesta DONAHEW, all of Akron, Ohio; Louella LEWIS, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Manervia MOORE, Leon, Route 1. Two brothers, Arnold SAYRE, Thornsville, Ohio; and Armor SAYRE, of Columbus, Ohio. Three half-sisters, Mary SAYRE, Anderson, Indiana; Vena STARCHER, Akron, Ohio, and Alice KAY, of Ripley, WV. One half-brother, Vaught SAYRE, Addison, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Creston U. B. church on Tuesday, Febraury 11, at 2 p.m., by the pastor, Roy DAVIS. Undertaker BAKER of Ohio in charge. Interment was in the Creston cemetey. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 20 Feb 1942)
