He, together with his father and brother-in-law John Barr joined the Army Company B, 22nd Virginia Infantry (C. S. A.) Sept. 22, 1862. His broth r Henry Fisher Hunt was already a member of Co. B. He died in a POW camp Camp Chase Columbus, OH and is buried there.
The 1860 census list him (Jacob) as age 23 her 26 John T. as 1 year.
The 1870 census list him (Jacob) as 32 Farmer Cow Run tax value 1000-350.
