Della Edward Sayre
Della Edward "Dick" Sayre, 78 of Flagrock Road, Evans, died Wednesday at his home following a long illness.
He was born in vans, a son of the late McComas and Nora Love Sayr e. He was a farmer and an employee of Rhodes Hatchery of Ripley for 33 years. He had worked for the Southern States Co-op.
He is survived by his wife, Orva Phillips Sayre; two stepsons, Carl Thomas of Ripley, and John Thomas of Given; three step-daughters, Alice Grady of Sandyville, Judy Bowling of Cleveland, VA and Linda Hill of Evan s; t hree brothers, Henry Sayre of Cottageville, George Sayre and K.O.(Sam)Sayre both of Evans; and 10 step grandchildren.
Service is at 1 p.m. today at the Longview United Methodist Church, with Rev. Armor Sayre officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ball Sayre.
