Gives age at death as 84y 7m 9 days. He is listed as a widower . He h ad by his first wife Roy and Focie. She died and he remarried. He marri ed Hattie L. Steele. 1920 census list him as 63, her as 35.
He was a twin to Michael P. Herdman. The census of 1900 does not li st a wife just list Roy, Focie J. and James (brother) he was a widow a nd a Nancy M. Sayre as a boarder she was 64 widowed, never had children bo rn in PA. I got his birth from courthouse records, as April 13, 185 4. On Census they reversed the 4 and 5 they have him being born April 18 45 .
Mason Co., WV marriages records 1886-1900 gives his age 44 Hettie 22 wh en married Aug. 22 1900 him born Jackson her residing in Mason Co., WV.
He was living with Thomas J. Flowers family in the 1880 census give a ge 13 son of Peter and Nancy Flowers Herdman as a farm labor.
The cemetery records that was copied gave his birth as April 15, 1856 dea th Nov. 24, 1940.
In the same cemetery there are 4 Herdman with out markers. Both of his wiv es may be buried there. Cottageville Rt. 1 news March 1, 1911 local newsp ap er.
Roy Sayre and Orville Stover were visitors of E. (H or W) Herdman Sunday.
His obit states he had 7 children by Hattie three preceding him in death.
