William Janes Rand
Funeral services for William Janes Rand, 70, former resident of this coun ty who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. C. Simpson, at Pikeville, K entucky, on Wednesday , August 13, 1941 were conducted at the Cottagevil le Methodist church Friday by Rev. W. I Fiber, pastor of the church, Buri al was at Cottageville, Mr. Rand was born January 29, 1871 at Cottagevill e, a son of Kinsey and Lavina Rand. He was married to Martha Jacobs, a nd to this union was born one child, Helen Webster, now the wi fe of C. B. Stancliff, of Los Angeles, California. A member of the Methodi st church since his early youth, he was a Mason, and was a well known a nd highly respected resident of the Cottageville section. For the past s ix years he had been residing with his sister in Kentucky where death occu rred after a long illness. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs C. B. Stan cliff, of Los Angeles, California; one brother, A. C. Rand of Cottagevill e; two sisters, Mrs. Delpha Tennant of Ravenswood, and Mrs. Alice S
