I saw the reports of my  death in the Charleston Paper however she was not related to me. My condolences to her family. I am very much alive. I never dreamed I would be in the company of such greats as Mark Twain who said,   "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated".

Please click here for a video remembrance for Veterans Day

Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice. Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans and now is federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, recognizing all Veterans from all wars. Please remember all of our Veterans from previous wars and the young men and women serving to protect us today.

I am including on Art’s List History Pages the short biographies of people who were born in West Virginia or who have lived a significant part of their lives in West Virginia and have made a difference. They do not have to be famous people, maybe it was your neighbor or your great Aunt Martha. Do you know someone who should be included in our History Page send me their names and I will publish them.  Click on this link to send me an email with your names. Famous Hillbillies

Annual Cow Run Day

Cow Run day was a sucess! One hundred twenty people registered at Cow Run Day but a few people did not get their name on the book. I am so sorry I did not get to attend this year. As usual there was a lot of food. My favorite was provided by Ms. Shirley Southall. She had three skillets of fried green tomatoes going at once, they were a big hit again, she also made homemade noddles. Shirley is great cook! There were several new people attending this year, and yes the Music was going on with some dancing, everybody had a great time.
