Richard E. Hummel Sr., age 80, of Northwood, OH, passed away on Friday morning, August 5, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Findlay, OH, on July 13, 1925, to Otto and Helen Bernita (Aukerman) Hummel. He married Mary Ellen Cook in Angola, IN, on March 3, 1956, and she preceded h im in dea th on October 26, 1988. He then married Ora Lynn Hoschar on August 4, 199 0, in Fostoria, OH, and she survives. Richard was a life long professional truck driver having started with Paul Gillmore Trucking of Old Fort, OH, and later drove for the former Matlack Inc. of Oregon, OH. He was a member of Lakewood Church of the Brethren, Millbury, OH, F.O. E. Eagles #4 30 of Fostoria, OH and the Over the Hill Camping Club.
Surviving Richard are his wife, Ora of Northwood, OH; daughter, Holly (David) Booth of Luckey, OH; sons, Richard (Barb) Hummel Jr. of Perrysburg, OH, Roger (Chris) Hummel of Genoa, OH; stepsons, Jeff (Jennie) Hou se of Wyo ming, Randy (Robin) House of Ada, OH, Jack House of Tiffin, OH, Wes (Cyndy) House of Bettsville, OH, Jason (Jennifer) House of Perrysburg, OH; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 12 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 st wife, Mary and brother, Gerald Hummel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, fr om 2 - 9 a. m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Luckey, O H, where fune ral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Augu st 10, 2005. Officiating will be Reverend Robert Thatcher and Reverend De lbert Ketterin g. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, OH.
