- Lola Ilene Hughes Arthur, 87, of Charleston, went to be with the Lord, December 24, 2016, after a long illness.
Lola was born June 1, 1929, the daughter of, Leonard and Elvie Stover Hughes, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her husband, George ?Jr? Arthur; daughter, Pam Arthur Gerlach; sisters, Bonnie Bumpus, and Vivian Alley; and son-in-law, Chuck Mahood.
Surviving are, her son, George ?Butch? Arthur and wife, Janice; daughter, Connie Mahood; sisters, Charlene Harmon, Sybil Robinson and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Adam and Wade Arthur, Russell and James Mahood; and son-in-law, Tim Gerlach; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. She fought the illness until the very end.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
