- Oma Hester (KAY) TAYLOR, daughter of Warren and Hester HERDMAN KAY, died n ear Letart on Dec. 5, 1947 after quite a lingering sickness. She had thr ee major operations in the past three years and quite a number of radium t reatments in an effort to save her life. Mrs. TAYLOR had passed her 59th y ear and had married Henry TAYLOR when she was in her teens. To this uni on four children were born, Velma HUFFMAN, Mildred FLOWERS and John TAYL OR of Letart, and Henry Jr. of Mt. Alto. She leaves to mourn her loss h er husband and the above named children, several grandchildren and 1 step- daughter, Mrs. Gladys MCGRAW of Mason City. Funeral services were held De c. 7, 1947 at 2 p.m. at the Guiding Star Church by Rev. Ronald SCHOOLCRA FT of Charleston. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 26 Dec 1947)
